Maison Poulain was founded by Ann-Sophie Poulin and Laurens Bekaert, a couple that only discovered biking 4 years ago. When Ann-Sophie had to put the bike aside because of a back hernia she started missing the biking culture; the history, the early morning coffee rides, the community. It was also during that time that she started learning more about living a sustainable lifestyle and the impact mass consumption had on our environment. This meant the start of a dream: providing an alternative for bikers that are looking for something different with respect towards human and nature. And thus, Maison Poulain was born. That they are the namesake of the original sponsor of the Tour de France KOM jersey, Chocolat Poulain, just made it meant to be.
Their collection strives to be as sustainable and durable as possible with a timeless design that can be worn for years to come. That’s why they chose Liebaert’s exclusive Nanostitch® fabrics. These 50 Gauge warp knitted fabrics are known for their extreme durability, unparalleled second-skin feeling and performance driven characteristics.
The Maison Poulain jersey is made out of one of our all-time favorites: the Air C-58. This 50 Gauge warp knitted fabric is known for its unparalleled second-skin feeling and high breathability. It comes in 2 colors and will without a doubt be the softest cycling jersey you will ever wear.
For their shorts Maison Poulain chose for the Nanostitch® Extreme C-40 fabric. The fabric offers a high compression rate while still being very light and opaque. The bib provides optimal comfort on long rides thanks to the chamois pad, developed for and by pro riders, as well as a radio pocket for the road warrior that is planning on racing these bibs.
